Accessibility
Last updated: October 31, 2026. We want everyone to be able to use this site, including the cost calculator. We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA.
What we've done
- Every page works with a keyboard alone, with a visible focus outline and a "Skip to content" link.
- Headings follow a logical order, and the main menu is a labeled navigation region with a menu button that announces whether it's open.
- The calculator's results are a live region, so a screen reader announces the new figures when an input changes. Every input has a label and a short note on where its default comes from. The quote form uses labeled fields and checkbox groups.
- The tracker picker on the pricing page uses standard radio buttons in labeled groups, and its answer is a live region.
- Text and background colors meet AA contrast ratios. Amber is used on dark navy or with dark text, never for small text on white. Nothing is conveyed by color alone: warnings in the demo engine panel are also written out.
- Pages reflow at 400% zoom and on screens as narrow as 320 pixels without sideways scrolling.
- Animation in the demo map stops when your system asks for reduced motion.
- Photographs are decorative and carry no information that isn't in the text; each has a short description.
What we know isn't perfect
- The demo map is a picture of made-up vehicles moving on streets. It's hidden from screen readers; the event feed next to it is a live region and carries the same events in text.
- The demo engine panel updates its readings every couple of seconds. It is marked so screen readers don't announce every change; the list beside it describes what the panel shows.
- The FAQ uses native disclosure widgets; in some older browsers they don't announce their open state.
